Cam'ron memories the Worst-Bound Bottom Bridge Experience, likening it just like Bricks—small fragments glued together, making it impossible to hold.

Cam’ron Recalls His Worst BBL Experience, Likens It To “Bricks”Cam'ron’s Worst BBL Experience: A True Story About Climate Change

In an interview or in his words, Cam'ron can recall his worst BBL experience. Though he is a warning worker for the U.S. Forest Service and a climate change expert, when it came time to explain how climate change affects trees and ecosystems, Cam'ron was not exactly sure how to handle that.

In 2019, while working on a bbl near his home in North Carolina, Cam'ron encountered a problem he could not immediately solve. He felt water coming down from the roof of his apartment due to a leak and then noticed swirling water around him. The water was so cold that it started to form tiny bricks-like sludge, which eventually began to flow out of the bbl.

Cam'ron’s story is one of real struggle—and also of how people often forget to question their surroundings in the face of an existential threat like climate change. From the moment Cam'ron noticed the water around his apartment, he knew that something was wrong—something that could affect a part of him and the people living below him.

The experience became a lesson for many professionals, including Cam’ron, who were trained to explain complex systems like ecosystems to others. He spent hours trying to figure out how this bbl worked and what the water represented. In his words: “I don’t know if I’m even remembering this right, but it felt really dangerous.”

What Cam'ron knew for sure was that he could not ignore the fact that a bbl is an indicator of climate change—especially when it comes to trees in places where they’ve been overfenced and overgrazed. Water on trees can sequester carbon, leading to the release of methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

But as Cam'ron learned more about the environment he worked at—where he lived near North Carolina’s vast, logging-heavy forests—the urgency of his work intensified. He realized that the water from his bbl not only was dangerous for human health but also for animals and wildlife.

In an interview with *The BlackAmeric Web* earlier this year, Cam'ron shared how he felt about the experience. “It wasn’t easy,” he said. “But I knew it had to be hard.” He explained that when someone in a position of authority faced such danger directly in their life, they could struggle and forget how much more dangerous it was for others to overlook those risks.

Cam'ron’s story is one of Bricks: in the face of something so dangerous— climate change—it’s easy to underestimate or ignore what’s out there. For many professionals working in fields that touch ecosystems—like environmental science, engineering, and conservation—the lessons learned from Cam’ron’s experience could be just as important today as they were 10 years ago.

But back to the future: is Cam'ron going to get this straightened out? Or will he keep on making mistakes like him? That’s a question for the future of climate change science and conservation. For now, Cam’ron reminds us that no matter how much we know about our planet, there are people living below us who don’t understand the urgency of what’s happening.

So much depends on Bricks: when you’re not even sure whether something is a brick or just ice crystals in a bbl, it can be hard to see the difference—and that’s a lesson we all need to learn as we navigate this world.
